Go up one level in this thread

Here's what Altavista translates directly. Not very nice english, but enough for
a start:
This program was written, thus Fritz6 the courses by WinBoard automatically on
the three most well-known chess servers ( Internet Chess club , Chess.Net , Free
Internet Chess server ) to execute can. Likewise one can use also all other
chess programs under the Chessbase surface to run. For this however 2 computers
are needed. On the one Fritz6 or Junior6 of the company must be installed
Chessbase on the other one must WinBoard and an Internet acces be available.

Installation:
1. Step:
First both computers must be connected with the help of a zero-modem cable to
respective OCM PORT.
2. Step:
Then one does not start Fritz6 or Junior6 on the computer an Internet acces has.
Now one selects Auto-232 0,9 the correct COM > port under the option extra -
attach hardware > ... ( short alto Ums+J) - out and acknowledges it with OK ONE.
This must be made with Fritz6 or Junior6 only once. With Fritz5.32 or Hiarcs7.32
after each start.

3. Step:
One selects the engine (F3) and the time keeping (Strg+Z).
On the page of Fritz one is now finished.

4. Step:
Now one turns to the computer with the Internet acces and the finished installed
WinBoard . Here first the provided file Winboard232.exe is copied into the
Winboard directory.

5. Step:
Then the Autoplayer must be adjusted as quite normal engines. This could look
for the Internet Chess club e.g. in such a way:

C:\Programme\winboard\winboard.exe - zp - ics - fcp " winboard232 2 " - icshost
chessclub.com - more icshelper timestamp

It means " " the 2 behind winboard232 that COM 2 is used here. One omits the 2
and writes only winboard232 COM 1 is automatically used.

  6. Step:
Now one starts WinBoard. The Autoplayer is activated automatically by Fritz. The
connection to chess server is manufactured must the still following adjustments
with WinBoard be made:
Under options - > general must be activated GET move cunning, otherwise aborted
portions cannot be continued again.
Likewise auto must be activated flag.
With options - > general should be Ponder NEXT move deactivated likewise Show
Thinking . It is here easily not used.
Now still the Settings stores and completely. At the end this should look as
accompanying:

Following problems or restrictions are there still:

1. The time keeping must on the computer with Fritz always manually and before
beginning of the portion be adjusted and can during the portion be only heavily
modified (simply times Strg z or F3 to try - does not function unfortunately
always). This is because of the Autoplayer log that that does not designate
simply. For this reason, one should leave the programs unaufbesichtigt!

2. No courses can be taken back. I did not integrate this, because I do not
consider meaningful.

3. Fritz should after threefold repetition of course 3. Repetition - he lodges a
complaint Remis instead of its only and terminates the play - must one does not
execute with the Winboard program only F6 press and the portion is also here
remis. The same applies also to the 50 courses rule, unfortunately.

Notes:

If one should have to interrupt the Autoplayer of Fritz for possibly a reason
times, then one operates afterwards 1 or 2 times file - > RESET Game with
Winboard. The Autoplayer is then again started and a portion if necessary
interrupted is again continued, but the time keeping again on the output base
reset and those uses time before ignored, sees also point 1.

I have this Autoplayer on icc.com and chess.net under Windows 98 tested and
there function he without further problems.

Wnbaord232.exe was written in C with the help of the C/C++ Watcom of compiler.
