Hi Ed,

When I clicked Analyze Bookup EPD-file for the first time and then I
clicked one EPD file created by Rebel9, the Rebel screen appeared
immediately. Suddenly a strange "broken bluish gray hole" part appeared
in the upper part of the Rebel screen. At the same time, I saw strange
lines of binary codes quivering inside that "broken bluish gray hole."
Then randomly my computer shut down and then restarted! After
restarted, I tried it again, and the same thing happened. After that,
when I clicked View Text File and loaded one text file, a similar but
little problem happened and my computer randomly shut down and restarted
again. This happened only once but I have not tried it again till now.
I had no problem with View Text File before I clicked Analyze Bookup
EPD-file for the first time.

Is it buggy? Is Rebel9 CD-ROM defective? Do my autoexec.bat and
config.sys files on my bootdisk cause any problem to Rebel9?

Please check the following exact copies of my autoexec.bat and
config.sys files on my bootdisk below.

C:\>type a:\autoexec.bat
@ECHO OFF
PATH C:\;C:\DOS;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
PROMPT $p$g
SET TEMP=C:\DOS\TEMP	(Is this line necessary?)
C:\syntouch\syntouch	(This applies to touchpad of my notebook only)
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1
SMARTDRV

C:\>type a:\config.sys
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS	(Is the line necessary?)
FILES=30	(Is 30 too much?)
BUFFERS=13	(Is it necessary? Is 13 too low?)
DOS=HIGH,UMB	(Is it necessary? I think yes.)
DOS=UMB (Is it necessary? I am not sure.)

Please show me which codes are necessary to keep and which are necessary
to omit from those files above. Are there any other codes that are
necessary to add to those files? Did those files cause problems to
Analyze Bookup EPD-file and View Text File in Rebel9?

Is it possible to fix that problem without exchanging Rebel9 CD-ROMs?
Maybe you can email me an attached patch of executable file to replace a
corrupted file, but the attached file should not be too large. Rebel9
engine works fine.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you again,
Eran
