I got the information from a technician at the computer service
center of my institution ( Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena ). He
has good contacts to DEC.
But the information was not how stably the 2GHz thing was running. It
was simply "it is tested". And from DEC's cooler technician for the
two 767 MHz-Alphas in Paris you can see that this is a hot topic.
( I had had some hope to get very fast Alphas for my 3-Hirn match
  against GM Yusupov ... )
