There is nothing wrong with the cdrom.

What happens is that you have loaded an EPD file from the Cdrom and try
to analyse the EPD file with "Analyse Bookup File". This function will
write the results to the same EPD file.

Of course you can not write to a cdrom. That's why you got the crash. If
you copy the EPD to your hard disk first you will notice everything will
work just fine.
