You've come to the right place. First program to examine: TSCP If you don't have a postscript reader, get GhostScript and GSView, because most of the really good stuff about chess programming is in postscript format. Ernst Heinz has a nice book out on scalable search in computer chess, but it is a bit much for a raw beginner. I would recommend that you buy it, but wait until you have learned the basics first. The menu bar for CCC has a listing called "Computer Chess Resource Center" Go there and look at whatever interests you.
