Hello everybody:

I had never posted any message in this great Forum, although I always read all
the messages.

The matter is to inform you about the not very professional and pleasant answer
that the Chess Master Team gave me concerning to the hash tables bug o in the
Chess Master 7000.

Next, I show you my first mail to the Team of Chessmaster.

Hash Tables
Importance: High

Hello:

I have an original Chess Master 7000 License.

I am a little worried about a posted information at the Chess Computer Forum,
where it is said that Chess Master has only 1 Mb of Hash Tables. Is this true?

I cannot believe the Chess Master 7000 Hash Tables Dimension is only 1 Mb,
contrary to the Chess Master 6000 Hash Tables Dimension.

The Url for the mentioned message is:

Waiting for your timely and early response.

Arturo Ochoa from Venezuela.

Yes, this is sadly correct. There is a bug in Chessmaster 7000 that prevents the
modification of the hash table size for a computer opponent. Unfortunately,
since Chessmaster 7000 has been "put to bed" by the development team, this bug
will not be fixed.

When I verified the bug was true, I got really angry, because I thought they
should have corrected that problem if it was reported by a lot of people.

Next, I show you my final message to them. I never received any asnwer to this.

You thought you could clip me my wings.

How do you dare to tell me that you put it in bed, after I spent my money in
this program, believing in another of thing (a good control for bugs, for
example)? Then, where is the real support to correct these programming bugs on
your behalf?

I have to claim you, because it is a lack of respect to the clients that, as me,
believed in the product. Now, it is that Chess Master 7000 plays worse than
Chess Master 6000, because you didn't consider the importance of dimensioning
appropriately the Hash Tables Size.

If other clients havent told it to ýou, I have been very frank.

In the future, I won't buy a new version of this product again, since if the
technical support is to put the bugs in bed, it is a fiasco of my monetary
investment.

Lastly, if you plan to launch ChessMaster 8000 to the market, please carry out
an extensive quality control for
minimizing, although it is, "the bugs put in bed".

Really, I am annoying with your declarations.

Best Regards, Arturo Ochoa.

What I want to point out is that I thought ChessMaster was a serious company
with a great quality in the technical support of the bug versions. However, the
reality is not that. I realized I receive a better support from the Authors of
Amateurs chess programs.

Of course, I should mention such exceptional companies as ICDChess, GambitSoft
and ChessBase because of their great quality services.

That's all.
