In the first place I think my prespective torwards chessprograms is diferent
from most of the members of this forum.
I don't care if a GM wins or looses from a computer program or not
It is not if a Computer wins a game from a GM or not or the other way around.
But the qualety of the games wich intrests me
And most important the usage from Chessprogram's for annalyzing
Aslong as GM's don't see that a computer now a days still plays totaly diferent
from a computer advanced chess is not a good idea
Only when you see what the program want and make sure it will be positionaly
corect you might consider the moves of the program
If not try to find a way to get the same idea but first make the position
positionaly better ( this means sometimes chessprogram's like to chase pieces
wich sometimes is not good to carry out the atack (threath) at once
But keep the threath at only carry out the attack at the right moment.
A verry good example of this is the 1th advanced game from Shirov
A GM should know this was not good but still he played it.
The rules made torwards chess are still verry use full in these kind of events.

But the only thing I hope for is that in the near future there will be find a
way to combine strong positional and tactical play in computer programs
So the analyzings methodes from the program may become verry useful

I think Rebel10 with antigm was a great step in this direction
If it only would have had a quicker search methode without loosing the style it
already could be closer to this direction
Rebel10 with antiGM find manny wins where other program would draw espacialy in
rook endings.
And I think my sugestion of using the old function of Fritz3 (f12 function)
but instead of 1 piece combinings of more pieces realy can help
Actualy Chessmaster also has some of this position table bases in Bischop King h
or a rankpawn versus king
I would say for the midle game aswell in the endgame positon tables from knights
and pawns greatly can help like I told before.
And Robert Hyhat was right ofcourse it is useless to give a 7th rank or 2th rank
a higher valeu when there is totaly no threath but combinings of white and black
pieces again can help.(actualy this again was used in Chessmaster5000
And you saw this realy good with the Alekhine personelety.
But then again the creating of a program who can do all this perfectly is verry
hard to make .
So I am stil only hoping
I am sure that my aproge will make both happy programmers and GM's.

Then again most of the human computer games posted here where actualy all
computer computer games.
