Hello,

Fernando is right about Arasan's play: it's picked up and is quite strong now.
I went through all the games in its match vs IM Paunovic and must say that I was
very impressed by its play. However, IM Paunovic played exactly as he would
play a human, he did not try anti-computer chess; he tried to beat it
tactically, which was wrong. Actually, I believe that Paunovic would have won
many games in that little match against a highly rated human, but he wasn't able
to do it against Arasan. My opinion: in computer - computer terms I believe
that Arasan is now close to 2400, if not even stronger. Against humans: you
described its strong points and shortcomings quite well: can play a 2600 game,
but can also easily succumb to an average human...
