Asking what a quantum is doesn't make sense. Quantum is used as the opposite of
continuity in this context.

What do you mean by "look like"? The best description of an electron is as a
probability distribution - you don't point at a certain point in space and say
"there it is" because of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle.

Building a quantum computer creates all sorts of problems for physicists, let's
hope that they can be resolved. Quantum mechanics is a deep subject, read a
couple of books on the subject and the workings of and difficulties with quantum
computers will be easier to understand. It's not as mathematically difficult as
e.g. the general theory of relativity, but some concepts are hard to grasp.
