Not in my opinion.  I never thought it was one of the "best" although I
don't think it is that far behind anyone either.  But I know what its
weaknesses are and plan on addressing many of them.  But I don't think
it
will ever do great at this event, because it is being tuned by playing
against humans, not against other programs...

there's a big difference...

I don't work for deep blue.  I work for *me* and computer chess in
general...
