Subject: Crafty's symmetry?

Hi!

I know that engines are not symmetrical: the score seen from one side is not
negative of the score seen from the other side. Yesterday I watched the banter
game at WCN with crafty (Eugene's 17.11) analyzing, and maybe during 10 to 20
moves the score went all the time from (about) -1.0 to about zero. That is when
it was black's turn the score was about zero and after black made the move it
went to -1.0 , even if they played the move Crafty was thinking. And then after
white made his move the sore went back to -1.0. Can this asymmetry be this big?
What can cause this? This was not a case where black had an opportunity to grab
a pawn and missed it all the time (I think...).

I don't have the gamescore right now but I can get it maybe later today.
