Here is another very extreme example of blocked pieces, from a game I recently finished in the US correspondence championship. All of my opponents moves after I left book on move 9 are the same as what Hiarcs7.32 plays at long (overnight) time controls. But other prorams I have tried also fail to solve blacks problems after 9.d6 becasue they fail to see the danger of blacks queen bishop being locked in. Here is the position after 9. d6 [D] r1bqk2r/1ppp1ppp/pb1P4/4p3/PPBn4/5N2/2PP1PPP/R1BQK2R b KQkq - 0 8 Here is the game (opponents name left off at his request: [Event "US13F"] [Site "?"] [Date "????.??.??"] [Round "?"] [White "Smith, Robin"] [Black "NN"] [Result "1-0"] [ECO "C51"] [Annotator "Smith"] [PlyCount "41"] 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. b4 Bb6 5. a4 a6 6. Nc3 Nf6 7. Nd5 Nxd5 8. exd5 Nd4 9. d6 Qf6 10. O-O Nxf3+ 11. Qxf3 Qxf3 12. gxf3 a5 13. b5 cxd6 14. Bb2 g5 15. d4 f6 16. Rfe1 h5 17. Rad1 h4 18. In fact Hiarcs, even after a long think, thinks black is slightly better here!? 21. f4 1-0 Robin Smith
