If you do not need six-men tablebases, I can send you my egtb.o file, or you can
download a crafty executable for UltraSparc from Dann Corbit's ftp site. If
six-men tablebases are important for you I can build it for you (but compiling
egtb.cpp has been nightmarish for me, do not ask if you do not need it).

No idea, but I did not have any problems with some older version of gcc.
Currently I use Sun's compiler.
