Wrong.

It's more like: what is a ferrari's horsepower/liter vs. a trablant's
horsepower/liter?

A 1MHz Pentium III would kick the 1MHz 8088 in the nuts.

Considering an 8088 does about 1 instruction every few (5?) clock cycles and a
PIII does about 2 instructions per clock cycle, I bet the PIII is ~10 times
faster.
