A friend of mine has written a program that equalises the amount of processor
usage when playing computer-computer games through multitasking on the one
machine (permanent brain off which makes it awkward as far as Fritz 6 goes!).
Comparing 'results' using/ not using the equalisation program, he says that the
only program that significantly hogs processor time when multitasking without
the processor equalisation is Chessmaster 6000. There is minimal difference
("not worth worrying about") using other programs. Hope this information helps.
Graham.
