No, I am aware of the difficulty to apply AI to chess but in this case I was
more thinking about position treatment methods.

For example JC.Weil has written a paper of pawn endings programming, or Robbert
Hyatt has put numerous comments in crafty sources on the way to handle
particular schemas (like linked passed pawns for example).

Probably "pattern" was not the best word but, being not a native english speaer,
I did not find any better.
