The aggressive style and unfounded contents of Chris' various posts
about
this subject bother me, too.

I do in no way object questions as for how to spend sponsorship money
but
spreading wild and obviously exaggerated speculations in such a way as
done by Chris is certainly not the right way to do it.

The facts that I know of read as follows:

  - Jaap stayed in a 3-star hotel and travelled by car because he took
many
boxes full of ICCA publications with him. Beside his duties as the
official
tournament director he lobbied around for new ICCA members and urged
old
ones to renew their membership on-site. Moreover, he sold a lot of
ICCA publications. As we need a tournament director in any case, I
do not
know what could be saved here ...

  - David and Tony were both heavily involved in organizing the whole
event.
As such they were responsible for many behind-the-scene details that
no
participant will ever be aware of. Personally, I do not object to
having
both principal organizers present on-site in order to make sure that
everything proceeds as planned. Please remember that the whole event
would
probably not have taken place without their prior organizational
efforts.

Moreover, I believe in David's and Tony's personal integrity which makes
me
feel that they do not tend to waste precious ICCA money as Chris
alleges.
