I'm not sure whether it's possible to check the identities thoroughly, I don't
think it is. And noone is talking about a member fee or sending identity cards,
which is pretty unrealistic.

However, it's a good signal to send in my opinion, that the forum doesn't accept
obvious aliases and that the names of the applicants will be checked as
thoroughly as possible. In most cases the deceitful character has a purpose with
joining the forum, which could be personal attacks or agendas. Either way, that
kind of behaviour would identify the culprite for further investigation.

So it's not supposed to be foolproof, but a guide for what I personally consider
to be prudent and polite behaviour. If you can't tag your opinions with your
own name, what importance do they have?

Best wishes...
Mogens
