I think there should be a little room here for discussion of high performance C/C++ programming. "How do I make my program go faster?" is a perfectly fine topic. I think some of the off-topic stuff has been clamped down on a little fast, but maybe the next moderators will be the same way. In the mean time, nobody has died, and the moderators have gotten a little bit of negative feedback from the community, which is fine. Everyone has their own ideas about how to moderate, but when you try to do it, you have to bend a little in order to avoid pissing people off. bruce
