Yes it can subtract a move from the book (have never seen it) if it loses again and again from the same line. I have seen it lose to Gandalf in the same opening six times but it never changed the opening from the book, instead it tried different lines after the book ended and fixed a draw in the seventh try. Nice to see someone interested in computerchess and not in the usual nonsense about who can hold on for ever in absolutely ridiculous discussions about nothing. Bertil
