But the only ones I bother to convert to Winboard are Xboard programs (because it takes about 5 mintutes). At some point, I want to do it right by writing a formal BNF grammar for the WinBoard protocol, and a parser and tree walker. Then I would publish the formal specification, and anyone who wanted to write a winboard engine would just use my simple API. But that's one of those "someday" projects. If you already have an Xboard program, you can convert it in minutes. If you don't it's a big project. And there is nothing more annoying than an Xboard/Winboard program that implements the protocol incorrectly. My pet peeves: 1. Not exiting when it is supposed to exit. Sounds silly, but I have seen 40 copies of an EXE filling ram to the gills and swapping the disk madly. If I use /-reuse on Monik, it does this (for instance). 2. Exiting when it's not suppoised to exit. Don't laugh, lots of programs do this. ;-) The other errors are not quite as serious. And it's *lame* in this day and age not to show the analysis. Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame. Great monumental sweaty pools of unfathomable lameness.
