Hi again Terry ,

1.) Create new tree ( give it any name you like , H732.ctg is a fine one ) .

Should be => Book => New Book => ( enter name there and press ok )

You now see the completely empty book at the right half of your screen .

Now press ALT-SHIFT-g

You should then see :

"Translate Hiarcs book " at the bottom of your screen

Under the chessboard you see a Counter counting positions translated

On the left bottom you see only two buttons ( Stop and Minimize )

The internal messages don't come at the start ; they come some time later during
the process .

After the procedure is finished you should see several moves in the formerly
empty book ; else something is wrong .

For the rest of your question this is only important if you have managed to get
that far .

I chose that book and imported it into General.ctg from Fritz as I liked this
tree better than the Hiarcs one which in my opinion wasn't very good . But there
is no reason why you shouldn't import it into the tree that came with Hiarcs.

regards .

pete
