The PIII is faster than an athlon for crafty, I think thats correct. But if one overclocks an intel processor there will be almost no performance boosts ie a 800 mhz PIII will get less than 1% boost from the first 5% clockspeed increase and then steadily less than that per next 5% percent. A new athlon (not athlon classic) will get a near linear increase for a high overclocking percentage. And the athlon and duron are now as easy to overclock as intel processors.
