I think Bc4 is good because the two choices for black are poor. The exchange of bishops gives the white king a headstart to the two black pawns and support for the passed pawn. With Bxg2 instead the black bishop is trapped. Well, that's the best I can offer for analysis as a non chess player. Best wishes... Mogens
