Did you edit the comet.ics files to ensure that the hash tables are set
correctly?

The default hash is some insanely high amount like 512 MB or something..The
first time i downloaded CometB23, i got the same thing you experienced..As
above..Resetting it and trying winboard too many times will result in strange
error signs..

Finally I got smart, and looked in the comet.ics files..
