Chess is 90% tactics, so what's wrong with the fastest and best tactical chess
engine? I don't think that it is possible to have an AI to do this, perhaps in
10 years. What good is to have a good plan and only to be spoiled because of
overlooking a simple tactical threat? Strategy is doing the right thing,
tactics is doing things right!!!
As proof that tactics is more important of an skill to master, Kasparov was
given a quiz by GM Nunn, and GM Nunn was surprised that Kasparov was able to
solve a very complicated endgame very quickly, and it was a tactics. Kasparov
once said that he used Fritz to improve his calculation abilities, once again,
tactics!!! I would suggest you to improve your tactics prowess first, then learn
strategy.
