I'm sure you have some point to make, but I have no idea what it is. Nobody said to throw out all the data for your opening books and use CAP data instead. On the other hand, it seems to make crafty play better (been using it since version 17.0). Just use the CAP scores as an additional resource. What you do with the CAP data is up to you. If you want to over rule 500 GM's with it, you are on shaky ground. But if there is little else to choose from, it is likely not a bad answer. Here is what you will know: Within the depth specified by acd, there are no technical snares leading to score worse that ce (or possibly you may find a hidden tactical trick). I have no presumption that chess programs can think strategically given 12 minutes, or that they understand positional moves. I think the CAP data is a supplement, not a replacement. I also think that someday it actually may replace human calculated books, but that day is not here yet. When have I ever said otherwise?
