A good and comprehensive list of available WinBoard programs. A few of the programs on your list will cause you problems. Olithink (illegal moves), Monik (can't remember), Tristam (uses a lot of cpu time with ponder off) and Skaki (same as Tristam). >I'm planning to run it in 2 rounds, so the entire tournament will have 992 >games. It´s just for fun, of course. I can't prove what program is stronger, >although I think LG2000, Nimzo, Comet and Crafty are stronger than the others. >What do you think? I believe your estimate is correct. Possible suprises would depend on the versions and timecontrol you use. SOS is better with a longer timecontrol and TCB is good at blitz. Phalanx could be dangerous as well. Good luck with your tournament. Best wishes... Mogens
