windoze is 'commodity computing'.  The alpha is not cheap.  NT _did_ run on
alpha at one point, but Digital and MicroSoft had some sort of falling out and
Microsoft pulled the plug on alpha/NT.  Eugene might remember more about why
this happened.  I don't recall specifics...

But rest assured a 21264 at 800 mhz will toast the plastic resin off your
1ghz Intel/AMD processor.  And I mean _badly_.
