OK, a couple of questions from a novice. I’m developing an inventory of chess software to help my game and I’ve come to the following conclusions: I’ve purchase Fritz 6.0, soon to follow up that purchase with ChessBase 7.0. I’m guessing that combination will give me ample data and games to hone my chess skills. Unless ChessBase comes with the HIARCS 7.32 engine I’ll probably purchase that engine. My reasoning is that the combination of both Fritz and HIARCS will give me an appreciation of both tactical and positional strategies. Does my strategy sound sound? Is there another combination of software you’d recommend? Am I going off the deep end too quickly? Should I just stick to Fritz 6.0 until I get a full appreciation of its capabilities? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
