This makes a lot of sense. But in '97, DB was playing an even better player -
one Gary Kasparov.

He conspicuously failed to pummel DB like a scrap yard crusher boxing up a car.
The one game he won (game 1) was done with considerable finesse (IMO), wheras
today, it was just "block the centre and go for the king" - simple enough for
even me to understand!

Some possible explanations:

* Gary was off form

* DB evaluates positions better than DJ

* Having greater processor power (and greater NPS (nodes per second)) does,
somehow, confer an ability to play this type of position better

I'd love to see people's thoughts on this.
