I hope this will clear up the question which was raised initially
upon the release of the F6 demo. The engine Fritz 6 Light is the
same engine as originally released as Fritz 6. This engine was
limited to 32 MB hash tables in any other Chessbase interface.
The original Fritz 6 was then upgraded to Fritz 6 Old, at this point
a new engine Fritz 6 was installed.

IMHO the current Fritz 6a is clearly the best of the three.

This engines being the same can be proved by analysis.

Analysis of the three engines Fritz 6a (now Fritz 6)
Fritz 6 original eng (now Fritz 6 Old) and Fritz 6 Light in a
