A third one is "Little Chess Partner", a freeware from Lokasoft which Lex Loep
informed us about recently:

http://www.lokasoft.nl/uk/jchess/chessgame.htm

They say, "A program written in Java is much slower then a program written in C
or assembler, thus the playing strength will be much less as well." -

But I've noticed that it reaches at least 6 ply within a few seconds (400 MHz),
and has a relatively high node rate. Not bad for (zipped) 45K of slow code. This
program can be included in a web page in it's zipped form. Works nice.
