Go up one level in this thread

Chris--

In this case, Rolf's original post was a compliment to you, concerning
your chess program, and this method of response is what led to the
downgrading of rgcc in the first place. As a native speaker of English,
you know the use of words such as these are unacceptable in a group
where people offended by such language might be reading. I realize that
Rolf has angered you in the past on rgcc, but this isn't rgcc, and to
bring it down to the level of the posts there will simply take away any
reason for its existence. That said, I must agree that Rolf, if he is to
be taken seriously ever again, must stop the constant diatribes against
Ed Shroder in the rgcc, no matter what the history of the conflict. He
has kept it going there. But you started this here, since you used a
deliberate misspelling of his name that I probably made you aware of,
even though without the umlaut it means "to exchange", instead of the
insult you intended. If you do wish to "exchange" unpleasantries with
Rolf, please go to rgcc again to do it, as this group is too difficult
to read with a browser, if there is no advantage such as the elimination
of off-topic posts. I will point out that Rolf, in this case, was
on-topic, until this diversion.

Now that I've said that, I must agree with Rolf's original post that
what you've been able to do with CSTal in 2500-3000 nps on my P150 is
amazing to me. I am really enjoying watching CSTal play. It (He?) is the
first program that really plays like a human to my eye, and thus creates
far more interesting games than my other purchases, even if it loses. It
doesn't do that too often, however, as in the 40/2 tourney I am running
with it against Rebel9, CSTal is currently up 6-2, and uses squeezing
tactics against Rebel9 which is outsearching it by 17-20x: 50000 nps to
2500-3000.

Please let's get back on topic,
kp
