Subject: Are ChessBase engines the future?

Author: Bert Seifriz

As most people know now, Junior will come as Fritz/ChessBase engine!
I have heard from another programmer who will sell his program
next year as Fritz engine, too.
This brings the number of available engines to nearly 10!!

Nothing against ChessBase, but I would find it
very boring when the next WCCC shows only Fritz boards
on all computers and inside work Hiarcs, Junior, M-Chess,
Nimzo, Genius, CS-Tal, Rebel etc.

Am I the only person who has a strange feeling about this
development? Are individual programs not much more colorful?
Bert
