Hello Bert - you know me well, and you can be sure:
This day will never come !
Not as long as I live !
Of course Friedel has a big empire and years of progress, but almost any
programmer I know has found out himself that BEEING an engine programmer
alone is not the right thing !
They all have to made their own experience with THE GUYS (in the scene,
all distributors and ChessBase, Computer-Schach and Spiele etc.).
They all have to make their eperience first.
Ed knows by now. Mark should know it too.
Stefan has made some "experience" by now and will find out himself later
with whom to live and with whom to die.
Others will make their "experience" later.
This is the PROGRESS they live from. That it needs individual time to
make experience. But you cannot hide something that is your main lack.
One day anybody (e.g. Stefan) find out HOW it works and than it is maybe
to late for him, but only maybe. Not only the group of people writing
FOR chessBase is growing. YOu can believe me, the army/troops (against
the empire) on the other side is growing too. Of course anybody is doing
his own stuff, and that weakens us, but WE HAVE ONE ENEMY WHO UNITES US
!
From my experience I can only say that the group of enemies against
ChessBase empire is growing from day to day and that many of the so
known "chessBase" friends are not friends but have to do/be two faced
because of business reasons, but have seen through and will change their
behaviour in the moment they have found better business.

Right. We are the Anti-force. Dark Vader will not win.
Mr.Black-Excellence will not win.

No - as a member of the Anti-ChessBase - army I can tell you :
We are prepared. And Paris was ONE STRIKE BACK against the empire !
Ok - they have Junior. As I have seen they have planned junior years
before. No problem for me, junior has many competitors, strong programs
like Mchess.
I don't think Marty will ever sell his engine to chessBase, although
they heavily try , or ?
also there is Ed. He can stop them too. And Virtual chess. Also too
strong for Fritz.
And Shredder ? He is not an chessBase engine too. No Bert - we will
survive although the others are more succesful. But we know WHY they are
succesful. We have to go the straight path, they have short-cuts.
One day in your life you have to decide: using Backbones or walking with
two-faced grin. We prefer backbones.

Exactly. In Hamburg they produce FAST-FOOD software, in Oxford they
produce Intelligent Software !
Hamburg = Hamburger. Oxford = Artificial Intelligence.

The fight is clear. The result is open.
