I DLed a version from the website and tried it out, and sure enough, it is riddled with problems.. It doesn't search very deep, it blunders pieces, it seems to occasionally get the evaluation right, but plays a dumb move anyways, and even sometimes tried to play illegal moves! I can assure you that Faile 1.4 does not do any of these things! :P The version for Fritz 6 that I have directly from the developers works great .. I was incredibly impressed by it. Gee .. don't I look like a retard now.. :( I was telling a lot of people how cool this was that the ChessBase people had finalized things and put it on their web site .. and look what happened :( I will talk to the people at ChessBase and try to get this figured out ASAP.. I will of course let you all know when the fixed version is available (and test what they put on the website before I broadcast to the world that it's available ....) Regards, Adrien.
