Well, it is really a matter of opinion when you get down to the definition of
"what is best" for any kind of thing.  I happen to disagree with some of his
opinions, but there is no such thing as a wrong viewpoint.  All opinions are
equally valid.

"I think that crafty is the greatest program ever." is a true statement.
By my opinion of what is great is something that I can learn from and is very
strong, with plenty of advanced techniques that I can study.  I don't think
crafty can beat Deep Blue head to head, but that does not alter my opinion.

On the other hand:
"Crafty is the strongest chess program in the world." is probably not a true
statement.

On the other, other hand:
"Crafty, on the right hardware, is among the strongest programs in the world."
is probably a true statement.  But couched in this way, it is pretty ambiguous.

When we use terms like "I think the best..." or "My favorite..." then anything
that follows is true, since we are simply expressing a viewpoint.
