I don't put you in that category.  I have at least 40 chess program source codes
(actually I have not counted but it's probably a lot more than that.)
Apparently, posting free source is not good enough.

However, for someone who has never tried to write a chess program, TSCP is the
first source code they should look at.

I think if you put out a tinker-toy, you won't be all that caught up in having
to offer hundreds of explanations.  If it is a nuclear reactor, you are likely
to find a few more inquiries.
