I have downloaded the programs and readme files from Bob Hyatt's TB directory with just a few of the actual tablebase files. I ran tbgen on my PC and the 3 & 4 men files took a little over an hour to generate. However these files are much larger than the .emd format files on Bob's site. There are also some .tbs format files. I assume that some are "raw" and some more compressed? Is there a utility to create .emd files from the tbgen files? Just curious. Real questions is which 5 or 6 men files would be the best to start with? I was thinking the all pawn combinations. Thanks. Brian
