Subject: Why is Rebel 8 engine within Rebel 9 15 % slower than original Rebel 8 ?

If I run Rebel 8 engine in Rebel 9 it's about 15 % slower than real
Rebel 8 ! Ed, what's the reason? I tested with exactly same settings
in both cases - PC is 486.
