I am going to try to release a new 14.0 version today. jason suggested changing to 14.x, because the scoring has changed enough that there are other portability issues with this version that would be very confusing. IE you have to delete your position.bin/position.lrn and start over, as the scores are now way wrong, since 14.0 is a centipawn evaluation while 13.x and previous versions are millipawn evaluation. Also, I have a corrected book.lrn file (called learn.dat on the ftp machine) that you can import, although you *must* use the "clear" option to get rid of the old scores. you can choose to either import my data, or simply clear your learning results by importing an empty file while using the clear option. I'm going to change the structure of my ftp machine, and make a directory for each version, since older versions will be kept there and the position.dat file for them will be different. I am going to try to get this done today, then you can try this out. Notice that this should be considered "experimental" as all versions of Crafty are. But it is *clearly* playing better, although at long games I still see an occasional sacrifice that I don't like... more when I get the files set up and ready for ftp...
