Personally, I only use chessprograms (Shredder and Crafty) to analyse my games. What is really needed to me is: - to annotate games overnight in a batch-mode, with a user-friendly way to go through comments and variations (like annotate of crafty) - to analyze games, rapidly exploring variations and showing/collecting computers suggestions (like analize of crafty). Here is nice to be able to enable/disable the opening book What I'm NOT interested in at all is in having hundreds of configuration settings, especially for the playing style (I always use Shredder with off-the-shelf settings)
