That is, if from KQQ vs KNN a sequence of moves could be found which would lead to a win in KQ vs KN there would be no need to calculate further combinations of moves. The first move would be a Queen takes Knight sacrifice and that would be all. Maybe the same technique could be applied to simplify many other 6-man endings. Clearly KQP vs KQP is not one of them. In any case, it is proportional to distance to 5-man database rather than mate.
