""What are the differences between last year's rendition of Deep Blue and this year's model? There are two main differences between the Deep Blue of last year and the current version. First of all, this year Deep Blue will be running on a faster system - the latest version of the SP - which uses 30 P2SC or Power Two Super Chip processors. As a result, it will run about twice as fast as last year's system. And as Murray Campbell says, "...in chess programs, speed is very important. The faster you are, the stronger you play."" I am confused? Probably it is the drink, yep, not enough?? The above is from the DB site, url given by lots of people. I followed the link and found the dam thing uses 30 P2SC or Power Two Super chip processors. From what I can gather from the many posts Deep Blue was? Or, still is, a bit of a brute... It is a rather good chess playing machine, by any standards. From the results is attained, it surely looks strong? Hell, it even beat Garry Kasparov. Is there any chance it can be put together, or plugged into an electric socket, and play a few games? I am thinking of the major commercial programs v DB...... Chris Taylor
