Here's the position: White pawns on a5, b2, and c4 White rook c7, White king d4 Black rook e2, Black king a6 White to move: For the first 11 or 12 half moves, the computer moves pawn b2-b4, but that's a stalemate. This is an example of inefficiency (relatively speaking). This position was given to me by Master Mark Ryan (not Mark Ryan on this CCC at Vancouver, Canada). Does anybody have a chess engine that can make this position run much faster (disregarding hardware)? Jonathan (49th message)
