While we all (or at least most of us) appreciate very much the
effort that has gone into setting up this web based CCC, the fact is it
is rather unwieldly and does not offer the conveniences/usability of a
newsgroup. I hate for us to sound like a bunch of ungrateful jerks
because I can imagine how much time and energy is spent operating this
site and for no profit other than to allow us to have crap-free computer
chess discussions. I took a look at RGCC today for the first time in a
couple of weeks and found it to be full of requests for cracked
commercial chess software and personal attacks on the people and
programmers who have left RGCC for here. It would be great if the
moderated newsgroup did happen as I much prefer using my Agent
newsreader to either IE4 or Netscape 4.03, but I'm definitely not
complaining about CCC, it's the best thing going for a computer chess
forum.
