Subject: WMCC 2000 Rules ... opportunity?

The ICGA J v23.2 has just come out with the rules of the 5th Computer Olympiad
... including the rules of the WMCC 2000.

I guess David Levy and Don Beal have the latest info ... or see

http://www.msoworld.com/Olympiad/computer.html (introduction)
http://www.msoworld.com/Olympiad/computer-rules.html (rules)
http://www.msoworld.com/Olympiad/computer-entry.html (entry form)

Rule 1 just says that "at least one of the program developers should attend ...
to operate, otherwise the entry fee is doubled."

It also says that "50% of entering developers and all developers attending must
be member of the ICCA." It doesn't insist on a surrogate operator being a
member of the ICCA.

Rule 9: In the WMCC, all chess-playing code must execute on a single generally
available processor.

So I guess if anyone not planning to be in London August 21-25 can find an ally
to run their programs on the ally's kit for them .... all is ok.
