Subject: AMD 500 Mhz CMKing vs Celeron 500 Mhz Crafty 17.11 Score W2 L1 D2

Author: Jorge Pichard

Date: 17:10:45 07/29/00

This time CMKing got the edge playing both side of the Nimzo-Indian Defense
Rubinstein Variation. With white CMKing simply outplayed Crafty 17.11 and with
Black CMKing held Crafty 17.11 to a draw after a long sequence of moves, since
the position ended up in Bishops of opposite colours, and neither side wanted to
offer a draw early in a drawish position.

The position was drawish from this point on, but neither programs realized
it, and I let it play up to move 133. I hope that for the next version of
CM8000, the program could offer resignation in a hopeless position, and also it
could offer draw in a situation like this one.

Pichard.
