Yes, compared to other programs, the strength of Genius 3 unfolds earlier. In test positions, I could clearly see that Genius 3 found more difficult moves within 0...7 seconds/P2-333 (24 out of 40) than any other program I tested then (including Fritz 5.32, CM6k, Crafty 16.6, Genius 5, etc.). But in the remaining time up to 6 min. on the other hand, it couldn't find as much as many other contestants. Therefore I can only assume, that the G3 games for this list contain many blitz or rapid games, probably more than of Genius 6.5. I don't know if the relation between the games played at different time controls is the same for all programs in the ChessBits list, or not. They publish detailed results for various time controls in their magazine (unfortunately not on their website, where only the overall rating is shown). Btw. most solved test positions within 0...60 seconds on P2-333 achieved Fritz 5.32 (33 of 40) in my test. Regards, M.Scheidl
